MATTHEW SERVICE

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Service began his rail career at OmniTRAX, Inc, working for the company’s switching services company at the Miller-Coors Brewery.  He was quickly promoted to the position of Engineering Supervisor for the company’s Hudson Bay Railway operation in Canada and subsequently Superintendent of Operations for Georgia Florida Railway, another OmniTRAX operation.

Mr. Service made the transition from short line to Class I operations in 2011 when he was recruited for the position of Manager of Terminal Improvement at CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, Florida.  Over the next several years, he rapidly advanced his career becoming the Jacksonville Terminal Assistant Superintendent.

Recognizing his talent and contributions to field operations, in 2013, CSX promoted Mr. Service to Director of Transportation Training for the company.  It was in this role, that he oversaw all aspects of training and development for new hires and existing employees within the Transportation Department.

In 2015, Mr. Service returned to the short line sector, as Vice President of Transportation for Patriot Rail Company.  In 2017, Mr. Service received a promotion to the position of Vice President of Operations.  In this position, he had oversight responsibility for the company’s network of 14 rail operations across the United States.

Currently, Mr. Service is serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Patriot Rail and Ports.   Mr. Service received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi.
